Orange Liqueur French Toast with Fresh Strawberries

2 pints fresh strawberries, sliced
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons orange liqueur

For French Toast:
4 eggs
3/4 cup milk
1/4 cup orange liqueur
3 tablespoons sugar
6 thick slices bread, preferably Challah or similar style egg bread

Whipped cream

In a large bowl, combine strawberries, sugar, and liqueur. Let stand 1 hour, stirring occasionally. In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, liqueur, and sugar. Coat each slice of bread on both sides with egg mixture.
Melt 2 to 3 tablespoons of butter on a hot griddle (over medium-high heat). Cook prepared bread slices until golden brown on both sides and puffed.
To serve, place 1 piece of French toast on plate. Drizzle with honey and top with strawberries and whipped cream. Serve immediately.
Serves: 4 - 6
