Pizzelles and Ice Cream

INGREDIENTS
1-1/2 cups sugar
1 cup Crisco
1 lemon - juiced with finely grated rind
1 orange - juiced with finely grated rind
3 tablespoons anise oil
2 tablespoons anise seed
1 dozen eggs
1 tablespoon baking powder
6 cups flour

DIRECTIONS
In the bowl of a Cuisinart mixer, using the paddle attachment, blend Crisco and sugar. Add the lemon juice, lemon rind, orange juice and orange rind. Add the anise oil and anise seed. Add eggs and then add dry ingredients. Dough will be soft. Chill for a few hours before making. Preheat your electric pizelle iron and cook until lightly brown.
Makes over 100 Pizelles.
